Hyper Island: BR Website

In 2023, Hyper Island went through a global rebrand, which meant the Brazilian unit's website also needed to be adapted to the new visual identity. I was part of the team responsible for that redesign.

Hyper Island's global website was designed for a mostly student-facing audience, with a more expressive UI and a strong presence of orange, the accent color of the new identity. In Brazil, however, our main audience is businesses, who expect a more sober brand experience. We needed an interface that communicated professionalism without losing the brand's identity, using orange as a supporting color rather than the protagonist.

To get there, we started with a benchmark of competitors and B2B market references, followed by wireframes for every page on the site, prioritizing the information our Brazilian target audience needed to find first. From there, we built the UI with a focus on minimalism, defining strategic focal points for the use of orange, such as CTAs and key highlights, while keeping the rest of the palette more neutral. The result was a site aligned with the new global identity, but with a more sober tone geared toward the B2B context.

Recently, I went back to this project for my portfolio and asked myself how I would take this homepage further today, with everything I've learned since. It's worth being clear that this is a personal exploration, not something implemented on the live site, but a way to show my thought process and growth as a designer, starting from real work.

The first change was in the hero: I replaced the static image at the top with a video compiling real moments from Hyper Island's deliveries, reinforcing a sense of immersion from the very first interaction with the brand, going beyond illustrating the experience to actually conveying it. I also revised the page's grid structure, making the composition leaner and more consistent across blocks and reducing visual clutter. I resized the buttons to reinforce affordance, meaning making them visibly clickable, and to clarify the hierarchy of actions on the page. I further refined the font weights and sizes across headings, subheadings, and body text, better guiding the user's reading flow through the page, and increased the spacing between sections to make the reading experience more comfortable, reinforcing the clean look the brand had been pursuing since 2023.

As a result, the new version of the homepage became more dynamic, with a more immersive entry point and a smoother visual reading experience, keeping the clean essence pursued since the 2023 redesign, but taking it one step further.
